Eye get hold of is an crucial brick in the basis of authentic pet training. Canine are 1 of the few species that naturally glimpse at people in the eyes to communicate with them. Since pet dogs do this naturally, it’s a very simple phase to train them to glimpse at us when we check with them to! This movie demonstrates you Precisely how to do just that!

  6. I'm getting a new puppy in a few weeks and these videos have been very helpful. I liked how in this video you showed people trying after you told them what to do – it was helpful to also see what NOT to do (I.e. The child saying "watch me watch me watch me"). I know you have other videos where you explain what not to do but if you had more examples like that where people try to implement your advice incorrectly that might be helpful to see where people commonly go wrong.

  7. Thanks for this! I don't really have problems getting my dog's attention, but it is helpful to have a more formal guide. I also saw the kid in the video, and I thought it would be a great way for my preschooler to build his relationship with our dog if I let him do a training session or two a day. Practicing getting her eye contact.

  10. Really great video. Though I'm walking someone's dog and he does not seem to be interested in treats. Are there other ways to gain a dog's attention if they're not interested in food?

  18. Zak, You are great! I have tried some stuff and it works. But I'm having troubles with training my rescue how to be less aggressive. She is very sweet most of the time, but can be very domineering. How to I get her to stop jump AND NIPPING at me? (she was previous abused by the first owner so I believe that that has something to do with it).

  20. My partner and I are curious about when and how often to use a dog's name. We've seen some trainings before where the trainer is very specific about when and how often to say the dog's name, and we're curious what you think! (We're adopting a westie puppy this Summer, and we're doing our best to prep for him now!)

  24. My little dog is nine years old now. He would rather play with his toy than bring it to me. What's the best way to teach him to return the toy to me, so that we can play fetch? Thank you.—–And thank you for teaching me about "watch me." Terrific lesson.

  27. I'm going to be training my own service dog soon and I think that your form of training could be extremely helpful for people like myself that can't afford professional training. I think you should do videos that help in passing the canine good citizen test and tasks that service dogs can perform. another topic that would help is training to potty on command. ( a requirement for service dogs.)
