  7. The whole point of obedience training is not to make the dog do what you say but to help both of you open a pathway of communication and understanding. It really sets the both of you up to have a good life together. I HIGHLY recommend finding a good positive dog trainer and spending money on at least a couple months of training. It is essential. Don't be one of those people who doesn't want to put in the time and effort and money and then wants to get rid of their dog cause a year later it chews everything up and never listens to you. Ugh my neighbor just got a puppy and she won't go to training with him it pisses me off.

  8. I've been working on this with my dog, shes doing great! But she lets her front legs just hang there while shes sitting in that position. I've heard that moving them into the position you want isn't the best training technique, but I don't know how to get her front legs up into a cuter position. Any suggestions? Or is it okay if I move her legs for her?

  17. You just lost me!
God is the creator and even Darwin doubts his own "theories" because there is no proof, scientific evidence, historical evidence, eye witness's or faith to believe what he thinks is true!!!
His ideas have been proven incorrect and illogical and have no historical proof or back up.
Your training has some credence, but your theories about evolution have no back up or references.

  18. My dog is 1 1/2 years old and I've never used the clicker for him. Does the clicker really make the difference?? My trainer just told me to use the word "yes". And since I've never used the clicker before, is it too late?? Thanks!

  40. Nice personal touch to this side of Zak. I know it's an old video, so I wonder if he and Brianna (sp?) are married by now? As far as training, I was one of those folks who was not interested in tricks, but I have followed Zak's suggestion and done it anyway. Amazing results! My dog seems to love his training time even more. He just loves learning. My theory on why is that it gives him a time to clearly communicate. He learns one more unambiguous signal from me, and rewards me with the desired trick. Great bonding time.
