  2. Thanks for the wonderful video! I'm starting my 4 month old Golden Retriever on the adult dog essentials package at Petco and she starts her training today. My goal is for her to get the Canine Good Citizen Certification from Petco since its like the gold standard for obedience and is recognized by the AKC, they also include it in her title which is cool.I was going to start her in the puppy training classes but the trainer said she is more advanced than those classes, she can already speak and play dead on command. She can also do basic commands like sit, down, stay, and come but I'm hoping to get them solidified more since she doesn't always listen to me lol.I compared the training at Petco to PetSmart and Petco just seems to be a little better and is also recommended by the AKC website. They are also cheaper which is always good lol. I also like the fact that you can choose to have one on one training or group lessons, I plan on doing both mixed up.Does Petco have certificates and a graduation day with a cute little cap and photos after each level of training? That would be really cool!

  6. Thanks for the video! They are having a 50% 6 week dog training course at my local petco. I am definitely going to take advantage of this deal and enroll my 4 month old chihuahua Lacey, but I still needed to get feedback! By the way, they didn't give Sofie a hat?

  7. I notice you don't have very many videos but the ones you do have are very good YES you should make a video on what not feed your dog and why. and should you gave a dog bones or not. I have seen bones at pet stores why are those safe for dogs ? like Can I give my dog my steak bone after I have eaten the meat  ? this would be a good topic .

  8. It would've been a stronger video and worth your viewers time to see your dog execute what she learned. Reshoot? On the positive side, you and Sophie are both very telegenic.

  9. I had the same reasons for enrolling my German Shepherd pup into training classes. He thinks it's ok to growl and bark at other dogs XD. I used to have a Yorkie as well. Sophie is super cute!

  11. Hi! thanks for watching my video! So I think the classes will help your dog, but they will also help you help your dog as well! haha I spoil Sophie a lot too, and when we do that it sometimes allows our dogs to think they are the boss, and as a result they won't always take us seriously. The good thing about the classes are sometimes when dogs see other dogs do good things it influences them to do good too, and also whoever is teaching the class will help you get through each lesson as well 🙂

  13. Adorable Yorkie. I'm happy to see that you are educating people about doggie do's and don'ts. I wish more people were responsible like you and would do their research before getting a dog. Training to me is money well spent. My dog is a changed dog and for the better

  14. What are the dog qualifications to be in the class? Like do you need the dog to be neutered or anything like that. And do you need just the rabies shot or others things too? Reply asap. Thank you.

  17. Hello! I had my Petco experience in the NYC area, & it was $120 for 6 weeks beginner level. I think it is definitely worth it, b/c if you finish all 6 weeks & you aren't satisfied you can keep going back as many times as you want w/ no extra charge. They really care about making you & your dog happy. You do participate in the training class as well. The purpose of the class is not only to train your dog, but to also help you learn how to train your dog, b/c u have to practice at home as well 🙂

  18. Hi! I have a Pomeranian and he just turned 1 almost 2 months ago. I'm planning to take him to petco so they'll train him. One of my questions is how much did it cost, is it worth it, and if I am going to be with him during the training?

  20. Aww that sounds awesome! We took the classes here in New York, so that might be why it was a little more, but I would take advantage of it for that price too! I think the classes will definitely help him with socialization and being in different places, along with basic obedience. If you have any more questions let me know 🙂 Good luck with the classes if you decide to do them, & I would love to know how it goes for you!

  22. Where do you live? I live in Illinois and its 106 XD. Can't wait to go with Hunter (GSD/Timber wolf) to class! He's my service puppy and I want to help him get better socialization and get comfortable in stores. Since, he'll need to be calm all the time.

  23. I believe it was $120 for 6 weeks. Sometimes they have specials and you can get some money off, which is pretty cool too, definitely something to ask them about if you're interested 🙂
