  4. I take my dog to a busy beach with lots of other dogs, I have done since 12 weeks old and she's the most friendly, loving Jack rustle. She's great with other dogs and great with small children. Maybe I just got lucky with her but I don't have a problem with it.

  6. Hi Peter. We're guilty of making the dog park mistake with our Shikoku (just about 7 months old) who is now showing extreme aggression to other dogs. We also went to obedience school and were taught to food-train. We will take him to the dog park and walk around the outside of the fence for a while instead to hopefully try to undo the damage… But as far as food training, do you recommend stopping that cold-turkey? Or should we just use less and less treats and gradually replace with toys/praise? Thank you for your videos.

  7. My Sammy nvr been to a dog park… but he gets so overly excited when he sees another dog while walking. I only allow him to socialize if I know the owner & dog otherwise I always go the other way. He use to get very excited when he also saw ppl too but I put a stop to that… they always trying to pet him cuz he's so damn cute.

  8. Abe, my dog, he doesn't enjoy the dog park for the very reason of the badly behaved dogs. When there are good dogs there, that are polite; he has a blast. Most of the time it's very badly behaved dogs, and Abe stays next to me because he's concerned about the other dogs behaviors. There's always one dog there that humps everything, and is way to unfocused and hyper- those dogs always trigger some sort of fight.
It's like when you see a well behaved kid being forced to have a play date with a bratty kid, and the good kid just has to suffer through it. Just like a good kid, a good dog knows certain behaviors are bad, and wont even engage.

  10. the other day I was walking in a crowded sidewalk when 2 idiots walking their dogs crossed their path. The dog owners had their brains shut down looking at their phones, because I could see that both the dogs where showing signs of aggression towards eachother, so I had at least 4 seconds to get out of their way.
Then the dogs attacked eachother, with both owners completely clueless.
After the aggression, they started to blame eachother like idiots, especially the woman who even wanted to call the cops.

  13. Made that mistake of taking my dog to one way back when. Always put forward as a great idea by every idiot around. Nothing but fucking random chaos. Never went near one again.
