Right here is a transient video of how I qualified Bristol to alert to items I do when I get nervous with out acknowledging it these types of as scratching arm, and many others. It permits her to alert me ahead of it will get to the place of an attack.

  1. My lab mix, Esme, nudges me when I bite my hands because that's what I do when I'm almost to the point of a panic attack.

  3. I want to train my dog for allergy alerting — do you find that using pawing as the signal gives you lots of scratches and marks on your arm, etc? My dog paws more willingly than he touches me with his nose without licking. I know I don't want licking to be the signal — he licks me to show affection and I want a very clear signal. He doesn't paw me (wasn't allowed at all pre-career change).

  12. This is great! Very helpful, but due to personal preferences I taught my dog the cue as "paw". Do you think it will make any difference from "paw" or "alert"?
