  1. Perforate it's eardrums whilst your at it, I can train terriers without using vocals most of the time using clicks, tssts and hand signals, although it's not the best method for male jacks, they are more aggressive especially if not nutered or spaded,so when my baby Gia teethes on my fingers I make a tsst noice and push her away, she often looks at me like,"what? What did I do"a confused look, then I reward her with a tiny piece of dry kibble, only enough to keep her interested during training sessions

  15. this works only if you want your not to not bite ANYONE
for example if you have a protection dog this method will render them totally useless, why would you want a protection dog that if it attacks a burglar and the burglar screams of pain the dog would let him go

  16. this may not work for me, i have a jack russell/ chihuahua cross that has the same reactions as a red squirrel thats had way too much coffee, he is extremely spun and has a tendency to chew the carpet. hes only 6 months shouldve grown outta it but its getting worse when it comes to him seeing ppl on sidewalk what with his "teething". doesnt bark so much no at other dogs and such but i need something more then just giving him treats bc yelping or screaming just makes it much worse of a bite as he thinks its a game. So do i stay silent?

  17. The best method I learned was to put my dog in a room, close the door for no longer than a couple minutes. I open the door, don't look at her, don't say a word, then turn around and walk away. It REALLY works with stopping the biting and the feistiness. I learned it from a lady at Petsmart. NOTHING else was working. My Golden is now 4 years old. Had I known early on, I would have applied that method from day one.

  28. Don't yell at your puppy. He's trying to play or get your attention the wrong way. You need to be patient with him. My puppy left bruises and cuts up and down my ankles for weeks. It takes time and patience. If he is making you angry, you need to leave him until he and you both settle down. Then, next time you see him even thinking about biting say "no bites" firmly and grab a toy to play with, or walk away immediately before it escalates so he doesn't get attention by biting you.

  29. Consistency is key. I've had my puppy for five weeks now using this technique from day one. Raising my voice or holding him down makes him think it's play time. So I leave multiple toys in every room for him so I can grab one and re-direct. When it gets to be too much, I leave the room altogether for a couple minutes and he usually finds his toys to chew on, then I drop a treat and praise. At first I could barely get OUT of the room. He still bites every day, but MUCH less, so don't give up.
