  3. Unfortunately any idiot can write a dog training book these days. Whats even more unfortunate is that any idiot can own a dog and unfortunately do. Too many people listen to this rubbish and end up shouting too many commands at their dog and try to micromanage the poor little sods. If you enter a room and see your dog sleeping on the sofa then let him be. If you dont want your dog to mess up your sofa then use a throw to cover it. if that is still unacceptable then the question might be asked why you got a dog in the first place. A dog that lives in a harmonious and balanced way will reward you in ways you could not imagine.

  4. I think you have a good balanced approach. I can see some areas you don't let your dog on, but for the most part, my dog is part of my family, I got him or her, to spend time with me. Not allowing them on the bed or furniture just seems unnatural to me. I know they say dogs shouldn't sleep in you bed as they will ruin your sleep, but I have to say, I feel I get better sleep, I feel relaxed, safe and loved. Since my dog passed away, I have not slept as well, as I did with her. It been a few years, and I am ready to let another dog come into my life to love.

  7. my samoyeds sleep on my bed. But they've been trained that they're only allowed to get there when I am :3 PLUS when I'm okay with it. inviting them to come 🙂 then I pat on the bed. I did caught them a few times, hehe, but they always get of as fast as they can. which is pretty funny. 🙂 seeing those white balls of fluff almost rolling of. mostly however, the door to the sleeping room is closed. the dogs got their seperate beds as well.

I like the usual excuse of elevation for not sleeping on the bed. Like dogs in the wild have interior decorators that build the dens with precise levels.
