  5. Great piece, but this article is a farce. Almost all the Oregon truffles served at the Oregon truffle festival are raked truffles! Not dog harvested. This is the case in almost all the restaurants in the Northwest. If you do see truffles on a menu, ask if they are dog harvested or raked truffles…if they don't know…they are raked

  13. man I laughed… obviously bird dogs aren't the best choice because they are selective bred to look up for birds… but a high energy dog like that with a good nose isn't a lost cause… I have a heeler cross that Im training for truffles… but she is medium energy so I really have to keep her focused but she has a great nose… I think a bloodhound would be a great choice they always have their noses down…. but anything is better than pigs which eat half of the truffles… lol
